KATHERINE KENNEDY

Therapeutic Counsellor

Hi, my name is Katherine, and I am a counsellor at ACEDS (Ashley Cross Eating Disorder Service), specialising in supporting others to overcome eating disorders, whilst gaining a clearer understanding of their relationship with food.

My journey as a counsellor began when through my own experience, I often felt unheard and misunderstood, sometimes even with those closest to me.

As a counsellor I provide a safe and genuine, non judgmental environment, whilst embracing each individual’s unique self and experiences. I strongly believe that in a relationship where we can truly be ourselves change can happen.

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, with additional training in CBT-E, one of the most effective treatments for eating disorders.

I also work as a counsellor at a charitable organisation for those who have experienced trauma, and I have supported those who have experienced a wide range of difficulties such as, anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, isolation, and relationship difficulties.

“People only seriously consider change when

they feel accepted for exactly who they are”

                                              Carl Rogers.
